King Tut was the 12th king of the 18th Egyptian dynasty, in power from 1361 B.C. to 1352 B.C. After his death at 18, he disappeared from history until his tomb was found in 1922.
Pharaoh Tutankhamun died aged only 19. The shrines enclosing the stone sarcophagus where his coffin was placed were fitted into the burial chamber inside his tomb. The other chambers were filled with goods and treasures that the pharaoh might need in the Afterlife.
The social structure of ancient Egypt can be sorted into a social pyramid. At the top of the social pyramid was the pharaoh with the government officials, nobles and priests below him/her. The third tier consisted of the scribes and soldiers with the middle class in the fourth level. Peasants were the fifth tier of society with slaves making up the lowest social class.
